At the NOVA Islamic Center, we are dedicated to creating an environment where individuals can explore and appreciate the richness of Islam, empowering and uplifting Muslim Americans and promoting universal peace. Established in 2007, our center strives to nurture spiritual growth, educational advancement, and communal harmony.
Our History
The NOVA Islamic Center, originally founded in 2007 as the Institute of Islamic and Turkish Studies (IITS), is a community-based organization inspired by the ideals and principles of the Hizmet Movement. Our mission is to serve and empower the Muslim American community. In 2025, we embraced a more inclusive identity as the NOVA Islamic Center, broadening our mission to provide a welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds to learn about and practice Islam. We continue to focus on delivering engaging activities and programs tailored to the Northern Virginia Muslim American Community.
